INTERVIEW:

BBS AWARDS 2018

Hello and welcome to BBS AWARDS 2018.
Today I have been joined by super DJ and producer BassStyler.
Hi! Nice to have you here in BBS Awards.

What are some words you would use to describe this year (2018)?

Opportunities, effort, dedication and triumph.

Winter Bass - Original Mix - Empire Of Music Records
Can you tell us what you like best about your track?

What I like most about this track is that it is very fun and it encourages you to dance

Can you tell us about the new project you will be working on in 2019?

This 2019 I want to focus my project to learn new tricks and give more seriousness to my music.

Imagine walking inside the studio; please, can you speak to me through a typical day? What are your habits?

I usually sit down to produce, I start with the drop, when I have the advanced track I usually stand up and listen to it. If he makes me dance I keep producing, if he does not make me dance I'll erase him

How will you choose the software and add-ons you use?

Lately I am learning to use bitwig, ableton and logic to see the good of each program.
but normally I use fl which is the program that I started with.
I look for the ease of composing and making my own basses

Are you an avid believer of learning an instrument?
What is the only piece of DJ / production equipment that you can not live with?

I play the piano, and I can not live without my studio monitors

So what are your thoughts on technology aiding the technique of DJing?

Innovation offers many aids, but sometimes it gives too many facilities

Any artists / DJs / producers in particular that really influenced you?

The Brainkiller, Aggresivnes, Destroyers

What is the music scene like at this moment in your country?

Lately the public is increasing and every day there are more promos betting on this style, I think that a few years from now the Breakbeat will be much better known by my country

Often, certain cities are related to certain sounds and subgenres. Do you think that living in your city is reflected in your music?

Yes, I usually do the music that most people like in my country

INTERVIEW:

BBS AWARDS 2018

Hello and welcome to BBS AWARDS 2018.
Today I have been joined by super DJ and producer EDM Syndicate.
Hi! Nice to have you here in BBS Awards.

What are some words you would use to describe this year (2018)?

“Ground Breaking! We recruited some Amazingly talented individuals . Between all of the Producers In the Syndicate , we released close to 25-30 tracks. Maybe more. Many goals were met and even more Dreams had come true.”

Off The Roof EDM Syndicate Remix - Kaleidoscope Music
Can you tell us what you like best about your track?

“Off the Roof was a last minute submission. The Original Mix was made by Losman & Underground Utopia.
Honestly , Losman was so excited to get 3 tracks on Kaleidoscope 150 Break-Out EP that he set it up to be remixed and submitted . Thankfully Dan/Huda Hudia accepted it. Now, EDM Syndicate has a track on Kaleidoscope Music !! It was a dream come true for us all”

Can you tell us about the new project you will be working on in 2019?

“Sure. We’ve already started 2019 with a Bang. We Launched our Record Label called Syndicate Nation. It just might be in your Best Label category this time next year. DJ Tokz hosts the NSB.co.uk EDM Syndicate Radio Show ‘2 Steps Ahead’ and it’s flourishing. Losman , Brokon, BeatsMe,
N-Fluence, have already released multiple tracks in 2019 and many in the top 20!
Expect big things in 2019 from DJs/Producers Rosk , G-Force and Orkid as well .”

Imagine walking inside the studio; please, can you speak to me through a typical day? What are your habits?

“Just Turning on Ableton and/or FL Studio and letting our creativity juices flow. Calls will be made to a few others of course , and we just collaborate with others. Whether it be opinions or ideas. But it’s every single day”

How will you choose the software and add-ons you use?

“That depends on 2 things .
Who is all collaborating of an EDM Syndicate production and also depending on the actual track itself”

Are you an avid believer of learning an instrument?

“We all are. We have Piano players and Drums and Guitarist”

What is the only piece of DJ / production equipment that you can not live with?

“Some of us say Ableton. Others say their Pioneer DDJ SZ’s /SX’s”

So what are your thoughts on technology aiding the technique of DJing?

“It’s great. All the DJs can spin vinyl ,so the use of serato or traktor just makes Gigs more compact”

Any artists / DJs / producers in particular that really influenced you?

“We all have Influences.
Everyone has their own electronic music icons they appreciate and look up too.
Many , we’ve already worked with multiple times and it’s growing!”

What is the music scene like at this moment in your country?

“We are International. From Florida to Canada and everywhere in-between.
We like to think that WE are doing our part to make it more positive . We thrive on helping others and pulling up and comers up as well.”

Often, certain cities are related to certain sounds and subgenres. Do you think that living in your city is reflected in your music?

“100%. Even tho EDM Syndicate is a multicultural, multi-genre based Family.. we all have our own sound whether it’s DJing or Producing music .
Thank you so much for interviewing us and we look forward to the BBS Awards and the 2018 Finalists. Good luck to all who made it this far!!”

INTERVIEW:

BBS AWARDS 2018

Hello and welcome to BBS AWARDS 2018.
Today I have been joined by super DJ and producer Jim Funk- Florida.
Hi! Nice to have you here in BBS Awards.

What are some words you would use to describe this year (2018)?

Honestly, First thing that comes to mind is blessed. God truly gave me everything I could ask for in 2018.

SWAG -ORIGINAL MIX - LW Recordings
Can you tell us what you like best about your track?

I would definitely have to say, the best thing about making swag was working with such amazing artist, BLAKJAK and UNITED STATES BEAT SQUAD (USBS)

Can you tell us about the new project you will be working on in 2019?

Well, I already have five tracks ready to release and now working with six other artists on multiple projects. The start of the year I plan on releasing more of the high energy side of music and later in the year releasing more of my progressive side of music again.

Imagine walking inside the studio; please, can you speak to me through a typical day? What are your habits?

A normal day in the studio usually begins with an idea or dream I had the day or night before. I tend to try and find presets I have made that are close to the sound in the idea. Next, I normally go straight into drums because without a heartbeat it is hard to make a life of anything and I hate the sound of a metronome. My next step normally moves into vocals and melodies. From there it's all about time and letting the song guide you. Last but not least is the many days of mixdown and mastering.

How will you choose the software and add-ons you use?

Honestly, I read a lot of reviews and study daily about upcoming vst's and daw updates. I have been stuck on Pro tools since the early 2000's and in the last 9 years I have been enjoying the easy editing in Ableton live but, any time I record live vocal or do mastering I prefer using the daw pro tools.

Are you an avid believer of learning an instrument?

I believe an artist can paint a picture however they want. There are no rules to art but, truthfully instruments are some of the main tools for making a sound. I started playing drums at the age of 13 which led right into djing around the age of 15. Around the age of 17, I started digging deep into synthesizers and piano. It really wasn't till I went to California that I really started messing with the mpc and learning sampling. So I guess, I would say its very important to try things and learn as much as you can because everything you do only helps to teach you more about the love of music.

What is the only piece of DJ / production equipment that you can not live with?

Consciousness.

So what are your thoughts on technology aiding the technique of DJing?

I see in a lot of older friends, it's making it much harder for them because they didn't grow up in a world of computers. Other than that there isn't much we can do but learn and adapt because in time we will most likely just have to use thought and let the imagination go and a computer will build it. The present is a present for a reason embrace the now. That's all we have.

Any artists / DJs / producers, in particular, that really influenced you?

All artist, dancers, friends, family, GOD. Truthfully every moment of my life has influenced the music that comes from me.

What is the music scene like at this moment in your country?

It seems like we are onto another shift in music.

Often, certain cities are related to certain sounds and subgenres. Do you think that living in your city is reflected in your music?

Honestly yes, I am from Panama City Beach and grew up in the dance scene I was definitely taught that house beats didn't work in this town and are unfortunately still that way. This town likes more broken and hip hop style music and continues to guide me on how I play and make music.

INTERVIEW:

BBS AWARDS 2018

Hello and welcome to BBS AWARDS 2018.
Today I have been joined by super DJ and producer Dustin Dynasty Nelson - Florida.
Hi! Nice to have you here in BBS Awards.

What are some words you would use to describe this year (2018)?

Growth, Dedication, Victory, Perseverance

Booty Drop Original Mix - Kaleidoscope Music
Can you tell us what you like best about your track?

I really enjoy the percussion and slamming beat! Also, it’s my first song with just me and Sweet Charlie.

Can you tell us about the new project you will be working on in 2019?

This year I plan on launching my own record label and continue to reach out to quality artists. I will also continue to build my orchestral cue catalog even further.

Imagine walking inside the studio; please, can you speak to me through a typical day? What are your habits?

I never really stop thinking about music, no matter what I am doing or where I am at! I
always try to have a game plan together before I go into the studio! I use my away time to gather a general idea of the mood or sound I am aiming for before I start working on it in the studio. Sometimes I spend days going through all of my music content; labeling,
archiving, and shaping sounds that I know I will eventually use for a song later down the road!
When I make a song I usually start with the beat and build it up until it sounds full,
punchy and likes it can carry the song without sounding too repetitive. Once I have a well-rounded beat put together I go to my piano and start to freestyle until I play something that sounds catchy! After I record in my midi, I usually always manually edit my melodies even further until it sounds like I can build a whole song based on what I played and edited. Lately, I have made songs in 3 days to 2 weeks!

How will you choose the software and add-ons you use?

I use Logic X and lots of the “in box” tools and vst’s provided.
I also use T-Racks and
Native Instruments Suite, Keilwerth Audio Suite,Brainworx Suite,Waves,Nex
us 2,Serum,Sylenth,Breaktweaker and a bunch of others but these have been my main vst’s.

Are you an avid believer of learning an instrument?

I used to think knowing how to play an instrument didn’t matter, but after learning how to play the piano I have become more confident in my productions. Knowing how to
play an instrument is the most rewarding feeling and opens up so many windows for you as an artist! Since I purchased my Moog Subsequent 37 I have saved so much time designing quality sounds, that it’s become my most valuable piece of equipment!

What is the only piece of DJ / production equipment that you can not live with?

I really don’t like to see Dj’s not using their headphones these days! I’m not going to get too deep into it, but it’s just not the approach I would take to Djing.
Even with being mainly just a producer, I still take the time to mix my set’s live in front of everyone and use my ears to do it! So, if I am watching someone who is just a Dj, I expect to see them
actually mixing!

Any artists / DJs / producers, in particular, that really influenced you?

I have been influenced by so many artists over the years, but it wasn’t until I discovered
Dj Trashy, that I knew I was going to become a music producer!
People here in the United States have become more familiar with dance music over the past 10 years! I remember about 15 years ago, if you told someone you liked dance music, they automatically assumed you were a homosexual or they just called
it techno!
Nowadays most people love dance music but i would love to see people get back to being more original with what they like and not just following popular/viral artist’s! I feel that too many people are caught up in the “Smoke and Mirrors” of it all and not real music.

What is the music scene like at this moment in your country?

I just want to start with saying I am extremely fortunate to grow up in Central Florida!
I have been exposed to so many new sounds and music trends growing up here! As a kid, my older brothers exposed me to Miami Bass and when I would go to the local skating rink “Skate Dimensions” I would hear this catchy Freestyle Electro sound that was better than what was on the radio at the time! Being exposed to Florida Breaks, Miami Bass, Electro, Hip-hop and Electronica in my area has built me up to the producer I am today!
